TATAR NATIONAL DRAMA AND COMEDY THEATRE N.A. K.TINCHURIN
The Theatre has bright and original history. It was established in 1933 as the affiliate of Tatar State Academic Theatre on the initiative of famous play-writer K.Tinchurin and the First Congress of Farmers. The Theatre was started as Farmers Theatre, later it was reorganized into Republican Travelling Theatre, and finally appeared as Tatar National Drama and Comedy Theatre.
The first performance took place on November 6, 1933. At that time the company of the theatre was formed mainly by the actors of Tatar State Academic Theatre.
In the 50s graduates of Kazan Theatre School started to work at the Theatre.
The year of 1998 was a turning point in the history of the Theatre. That year the theatre was named after one of its founders, outstanding Tatar actor, director and play-writer Karim Tinchurin. In February of the building constructed in 1904. Whish belonged to Academic Theatre n.a. G.Kamal. The Theatre reviewed the repertoire, started to seek after new styles and genres.
